There’s a New AdWords Version Rolling Out

Google announced this week that it is rolling out an all-new design to AdWords accounts. After an extended redesign period they’ve taken feedback from users and created a new look.

We’ve heard from many of our clients that they found the AdWords dashboard got pretty cluttered over the last few years.  If you aren’t a ‘power user’ then it is pretty easy to feel overwhelmed with the amount of information presented.

Search Engine Land’s Pamela Parker interviewed Google’s Paul Feng who indicated that “rather than focusing on “simplifying” the interface, he liked to think of it as focusing on appropriateness. For each user, depending on their level of sophistication and the task they’re tackling, the interface should be different — suited to their aims.”

This is great news for anyone using AdWords regularly.  The addition of a new campaign types functionality will go a long way to allowing users to customize their display to suit their needs.

The new look which is rolling out over the next couple of days globally will feature an interface that allows your data to stand out with a new clean and modern feel to the display. Google has said that it’s keeping features where we are accustomed to finding them which is also great news.

Have a look at your accounts in the next couple of days to see if you’ve got the new display. How are you finding it? Do you think it’s been simplified or has it been made more robust – responding to a wider range of user needs?
