Fair Use Policy

Updated: November 1, 2011

This Fair Use Policy states important requirements regarding your use of the WordWatch PPC bidding service. You should read this carefully as it contains important information. WordWatch may revise this Fair Use Policy from time to time upon notice by posting a new version of this document at or any successor URL(s).

All revised copies of this Fair Use Policy are effective immediately upon posting. Accordingly, customers and users should regularly visit the WordWatch web site. Service is subject to the WordWatch Terms and Conditions of Service, which you should read before subscribing to the bidding service.

WordWatch has recognized that a small percent of customers account for a disproportionate share of keyword usage on the WordWatch bidding engine. To ensure all customers have equitable access to the WordWatch bidding functionality, WordWatch has implemented a Fair Use Policy.

While WordWatch has not set a specific keyword amount usage level (“Usage Level”) per customer for the Small Advertiser (Free) plan, the number can never be infinite due to practical scaling issues and the costs involved in providing a no-charge offering.

To mitigate excessive costs, WordWatch continually monitors the average number of keywords used by subscribers to the Small Advertiser (Free) plan. When you, as an individual subscriber, are found to have an amount of keywords in excess of the 90th percentile of all subscribers, you will be contacted by WordWatch, via the email address we have on file, and be asked to reduce the number of keywords (by unselecting campaigns for management) so as to bring your total number of keywords back under the 90th percentile.

If you fail to respond to repeated requests, WordWatch reserves the right to unilaterally reduce the number of keywords in your account under active management by disabling the requisite number of campaigns. You will still be able to use the service for the rest of your campaigns and keywords as long as your total number of keywords remains under the 90th percentile of all Small Advertiser plan customers.

In all cases, the number of keywords managed on behalf of subscribers to the Single Campaign (Free) plan is not guaranteed and is subject to this Fair Use Policy. You are likely to avoid any limitations imposed by the Fair Use Policy if your use is typical of the majority of WordWatch users.

WordWatch reserves the right to protect its network from harm, compromised capacity or degradation in performance. WordWatch reserves the right to limit bidding speeds or frequency, amount of data downloaded and analyzed, and to deny, modify or terminate service, without notice, to anyone whose usage adversely impacts our bidding engine or service levels. We may monitor your compliance with the above but will not monitor the content of your account except as otherwise expressly permitted or required by law.
